SCO Unix 3.2.4.x A DE-650CT (our single media cards are not supported, 650T and 650C) A knowledge of basic Unix commands and editing text files Minimum Skill Level ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ A knowledge of basic Unix commands A knowledge of editing text files A knowledge of Unix basic file structure A knowledge of the network driver configuration being used Please see Support Options if you are not comfortable will this skill level Compatibility List ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ DE-650CT only (will not run with DE-650T or DE-650C) Removal of any present PCMCIA drivers For a laptop compatibility list please consult your local D-Link Branch Office Getting Started ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ This installation procedure applies to SCO UNIX LLI drivers with TCP/IP v.1.2x. NOTE: Commands in UNIX are case-sensitive, thus, those in upper-case will be treated differently from those in lower-case. Login to the network as root. (On maintenance mode) Insert the driver diskette in Drive A or Drive B and use the doscp command to copy the SCOUNIX Driver into the UNIX directory. Type: # cd / # doscp a:/scounix/setup65s /setup65s (or # doscp b:/scounix/setup65s /setup65s) # chmod +x /setup65s # ./setup65s a: (or # ./setup65s b:) Add a chain by executing the following command: #netconfig A menu similar to the following appears on the screen: 1) Add a chain 2) Remove a chain 3) Reconfigure an element in a chain q) Quit Select option 1 "Add a chain". The following prompt appears on the screen: Select top level of chain to Add or q to quit: Type sco_tcp for SCO TCP/IP for UNIX. The following message appears: Select next level of chain to Add or q to quit: Select d65e0. This value varies according to the card number. The following prompt appears: Add chain sco_tcp->d65e0 (y/n): Type "y" for yes. This message appears: Installing the de65e driver into the link kit .Enter IRQ (3,4,5,9,10,11,15) [5] or 'q' to quit: Type value .Enter I/O base address (300..360) [300] or 'q' to quit: Type value .Enter RAM base address (c0000..ec000) [d0000] or 'q' to quit: Type value .Enter PCMCIA Slot Number (0,1) [0] or 'q' to quit: Type value Answer the question accordingly. This message then appears: Enter the internet address of this interface: Specify the internet address of the interface. The following message appears: Enter the netmask for this interface: Specify the subnet mask for the interface. Default mask is 255.255.255.0. The following message appears on the screen: Does the interface use a broadcast address of all 1's (y/n): Answer this question accordingly. Default is "y". The following then appears: Enter the broadcast address for this interface: Type in the broadcast address for the interface. The program asks: Are these values correct ? (y/n) If you think all values specified are correct, type "y". Otherwise, answer "n" and repeat the process. The following message appears on the screen: XX Pseudo ttys are currently configured, do you want to: 1) Add Pseudo ttys 2) Remove Pseudo ttys Select an option or enter q to quit [q] Type "q". The main menu reappears on the screen: 1) Add a chain 2) Remove a chain 3) Reconfigure a element in a chain q) Quit Select option: Select "q". The following message appears on the screen: Do you want to relink to kernel now ? Type "y" for yes. The following appears: Do you want this kernel to boot by default (y/n) Type "y" for yes. The following message appears on the screen: Do you want the kernel environment rebuilt (y/n) Type "y" for yes. Reboot UNIX by typing the following: # shutdown -y -g0 Multi-Card Installation ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ It is possible to install up to two DE-650CT adapters in your workstation.
