The D-Link's NetBIOS Emulator is a standardized network interface program that allows this adapter to run NetBIOS-based network operating systems like the IBM PC LAN Program and others. No software modification or additional installation is necessary. All operations, as well as installation procedures for the network operating system, remain the same. The following lists the files that will be used in this installation: Files Description ------------ ------------------------------ DE-620.EXE DE-620 Driver Program NBIOS.EXE NetBIOS Emulator Program To install the NetBIOS Emulator, follow these steps: 1. Load the driver program. Type: >DE-620 2. Load the NetBIOS Emulator program, NBIOS.EXE. This program is memory- resident and will stay in your computer's memory until the system is turned off or until you reboot. Type: >NBIOS [/Sm] [/Ck] The parameters after NBIOS are optional. Their functions are: /Sm specifies the maximum number of sessions allowed in your computer; where m ranges from 1 up to 254.If this parameter is not specified, the default values of 32 will be used. /Ck specifies the maximum number of NetBIOS commands that can be used in your computer; where k ranges from 1 up to 255. If this parameter is not specified, the default value of 32 will be used. Your computer is now ready to run a NetBIOS-based network operating system.
