Step 3: Connecting the DI-701's Power
DI-701 Quick Starter Guide


To turn on the DI-701, simply plug the included power adapter into the DI-701 and then into a wall socket (or open power strip socket). The DI-701 is designed to be "always on" just like your broadband modem. To reboot the unit, you will need to unplug and re-plug it in.

Once the DI-701 powers up and goes through its boot sequence (wait about 20 or so seconds) you will want to verify that your cables were connected correctly. On the top of the unit towards the front are a bank of LEDs. Once your computer(s), hub/switch (if applicable), and modem are turned on, verify that the Local Link and Internet Link LEDs are glowing green. If they are not, you probably have a cable problem. Cable problems are the most common source of network problems. We recommend you replace your cables first, with known working cables.
