Step 7: Installing the DI-701's Configuration Software
DI-701 Quick Starter Guide
A. Insert the CD that came with the DI-701 and install the DI-701 Setup Software. The Installation Wizard will go through a number of screens, read each one and press "Next", press "Finish" at the end. The Installation Wizard will exit.
B. Start the DI-701 Setup program
C. Press Find:
D. The program should automatically find the unit. Select it and press "Configure". If it does not find the unit, check the troubleshooting section of the manual.
E. In the Device Name box, type in your computer's name (Host name) from Step 5 or as requested by your provider.
F. Press the "Global Port" Tab
If your computer was set to "Obtain IP address automatically" or your ISP recommends your computer to be set that way, simply select "Obtain global port configuration automatically".
G. Select "Set global port configuration" and fill in each field with the requested info as you wrote down in Step 5 or as provided by your ISP.
Press Save and then exit the setup program. At this time the DI-701 will reboot. It is recommended that you wait 10-20 seconds and then reboot all computers that will be using the DI-701.
Now all that is left to do is to try the DI-701 out. Pull up some of your favorite web pages. If you have any problems, it is recommended you read the troubleshooting sections in the larger manual included with your DI-701.
