UPDATE INFORMATION FOR RELEASE R03.03 1200 SERIES RSS, KIT NO. GVN6007K _________________________________________ The following major features have been added to this release of your RSS software: 1. MPT1327 RSSI Threshold level tuning screen On entering the screen, the current RSSI threshold values in the radio are displayed. This can aid in determining if the radio has previously been tuned correctly. There are now two ways of changing the RSSI threshold levels in the radio: 1.1. Apply the RF level for the desired RSSI threshold level to the radio's antenna connector, and press the corresponding function key (F2, F3, or F4) for the selected threshold level. 1.2. Enter a discrete value via the New Softpot Value fields. Then press the corresponding function key (F6, F7, or F8) for the selected threshold level. When tuning the radio via method 1.1) above, the fields which reflect the RSSI threshold values in the radio will be reset to zero. To view the discrete values stored in the radio it is neccesary to manually re-read the radio's codeplug. 2. Talk Around Data Channel : Enables / disables channel for data communications. Setting this bit routes the audio path (Rx, Tx) via the audio accessory connector, for data communications via a modem. This option is for radios being programmed with Stage 3a and above, and is for mobile radios only. Screen: Conventional Channels Path: Main Menu, F4, F5, F5 3. MAP27 / Data Calls : The MAP 27 / Data Calls screen contains MAP27/Data Call personality, Network Data Source, and MAP27 standard protocol setting ( i.e. configuration parameters). Screen: MAP27/Data Calls Path: Main Menu, F4, F5, F5, (F9 more) 3.1. Personality : This field shows the personality for which the MAP27/Data Call is displayed. Use function key F2 to select the next personality and function key F3 to select the previous personality. 3.2. Network Data Source : This field shows the source of the data network as 15 alphanumeric characters, the file name. 3.3. MAP27 Interface : Enables/disables the use of the MAP27 Interface. If enabled, the values of the interface configuration parameters are displayed and may be modified. These include Link Establish Timer, Activity Timer, No.of Re-tries, Activity Count, and Baud Rate. The range of each field is shown in the top right corner of the screen when the field is selected. 3.4. Alert Tones : Alert tones for the Non-Prescribed Data (NPD) and Short Data Calls, which are generated to indicate call progression, can be enabled or disabled. 3.5. Maint. Telegram : This field allows the user to select whether PERIODIC and PRESSEL ON/OFF Maintenance Telegrams are generated when on a traffic channel for an NPD call. 3.6. NPD Call Tx Interval-TR : This field controls the MPT1343 defined TR Timer used during NPD calls, if supported by radio software. The range of the field is shown in the top right corner of the screen (Default Value:5). 3.7. NPD Call Duration Timer Enable-TU : This option allows the user to enable/disable the MPT 1343 defined TU Timer during NPD calls, if supported by radio software. When enabled the user is prompted with the TU timer value which may be modified. The range of the field is shown in the top right corner of the screen (Default Value:30). 3.8. Short Data Display Mode : This field defines the short data display format. The range of the field is shown in the top right corner of the screen (Default Value:0). 3.9. Short Data Timer (TGI) : This field defines the timer used when the radio unit is waiting further signalling whilst in an incoming INDIVIDUALLY addressed short data transaction. The range of the field is shown in the top right corner of the screen (Default Value:5) 3.10. Short Data Timer (TGG) : This field defines the timer used when the radio unit is waiting further signalling whilst in an incoming GROUP addressed short data transaction. The range of the field is shown in the top right corner of the screen (Default Value:10) 4. Call Barring : The Call Barring screen now contains two new options: NPD Calls and Short Data Calls. Screen: Call Barring Path: Main Menu, F4, F4, F9 4.1. NPD Calls :The user is allowed or barred from sending NPD calls. This option is for radios being programmed with Stage 3a and above. 4.2. Short Data Calls :The user is allowed or barred from sending Short Data Calls. This option is for radios being programmed with Stage 3a and above. =============================================================== UPDATE INFORMATION FOR RELEASE R03.02 1200 SERIES RSS, KIT NO.
