1 Description
This instruction describes how to activate the Emergency Unlock mode. Emergency Unlock mode is activated by the user to restore system functionality temporarily in extraordinary situations.
Emergency Unlock mode is intended for emergency situations like:
- National emergency situation, for example natural disaster.
- Major network malfunction (extraordinary situations and extremely unusual) when the license management mechanism needs to be excluded as causes for the failure.
- Note:
- Emergency unlock must not be used for any other purpose than above specified and must be part of a joint continuity planning between Ericsson and the customer. Emergency unlock must not be used as a capacity buffer to cater for capacity peaks.
2 Procedure
2.1 Activate Emergency Unlock Mode
Prerequisites
- No documents are required.
- No tools are required.
- The following conditions must apply:
- The Emergency Unlock mode is INACTIVE.
- Attribute activationsLeft is not equal to 0 (zero).
- An Ericsson Command-Line Interface (ECLI) session in Exec mode is in progress.
Steps
- Navigate to the EmergencyUnlock managed object, for example:
>dn ManagedElement=NODE06ST,SystemFunctions=1,Lm=1,EmergencyUnlock=1
- Activate the Emergency Unlock mode:
(EmergencyUnlock=1)>activate
The system returns true if the operation is successful.
- Verify that the Emergency Unlock mode was activated correctly:
(EmergencyUnlock=1)>show activationState
The system returns activationState=ACTIVATED if the system now operates in Emergency Unlock mode.
- View the expiration date of the Emergency Unlock period:
(EmergencyUnlock=1)>show expiration
The following is an example output:
expiration=2014-05-25T00:00:00
- Note:
- Emergency Unlock automatically ceases at the end of the seven-day emergency unlock window.
