1 Media Stream Recording

The Media Stream Recording (MSR) functionality provides an efficient method for Ericsson support personnel to perform advanced troubleshooting on media plane related problems that are officially reported by the customer. MSR is used only after the customer has explicitly requested Ericsson to analyze the problem and has agreed with Ericsson on the use of MSR. Recordings can only be made by Ericsson personnel, and the produced recording files are sent to Ericsson Virtual Multimedia Resource Function (vMRF) support for analysis.

2 Checking the Use of MSR for vMRF

This procedure describes how to check the use of the MSR functionality used for troubleshooting for the vMRF.

Prerequisites:

SNMP for Fault Management has been configured as described in the Initial Configuration Guide.

Steps

Check the alarm list for the MRF Media Stream Recording Active alarm.

Once the MSR feature is activated, the MRF Media Stream Recording Active alarm is raised. The alarm remains active for ongoing and subsequently initiated calls. The alarm is ceased when there are no active recordings.
