My port of XNTPD (3.3w, not the absolutely latest version)
to VMS & UCX has improved over the first "test" version,
announced on April 24 ...

[XNTPD seems to be _the_ free implementation of the
Internet 'network time protocol', RFC 1305].

Thanks to a hint from "MyTH", the configuration stuff is working
now for UCX, so XNTPD is no longer restricted to a single network
interface. I also fixed the "drift file" handling.

A new kit sufficient to build two versions of the daemon
and the 'NTPQ' query program (plus just a few source files
that I didn't/couldn't port), is at

	ftp.gwdg.de , pub/vms/xntp3.3w.VMS-beta.tar.Z
and	gwdw04.gwdg.de , VMS/XNTP3_3W_VMS-BETA.TAR_Z

For the benefit of those who already picked up the ..._VMS-TEST
kit during the last few days, there is also a small ..._VMS-TEST2beta
upgrade kit with only the changed files.

XNTPD can be used on both AXP and VAX. The (new) DECC compiler
is required to compile it for the VAX, so at runtime at least
the DECC RTL support is required; the oldest versions against
which I could test my port are VMS V5.4-3 and UCX V2.0D, respectively.

My kit does not contain documentation; preferably you should
pick up the (unix) distribution from louie.udel.edu .
