Article 151147 of comp.os.vms: Hello, at first I would like to say thank you to Ken's answer. His explanations are good. We have only a NI interconnected cluster, one bootserver (a alphastation 400 4/233) and alpha- and vaxstations as satellites. There are two systemdisks (one for the alphas, one for the VAXes). Both are in a StorageWorks box (BA350). Also I do have a VAX as 'mothersystem' with a BA353 and a disk-VA with a backupsystem. So it is possible to upgrade the copied VAX systemdisk off cluster. There is no trouble. After upgrade I have to boot all the VAXes within the cluster. On all satellites MSCP serving is enabled (we have to mount the local disks on the print managers host). My knowledge is that the resource will be served by the nodes which answered to the boot request at first. Is this wrong? Is there a fallback to the alpha if a VAX answered the boot request at first? VEST the image. I am so sorry. I forgott to say VEST the EWS$WSA image. This one is needed on the load host to communicate with the EWS software in the EWS terminal (is a little bit more then only downloading). I did VEST the image and it works with a great performance. Also we are now able to loggin on an axp host. R. Wingert
