HBefore continuing with information about the DECUServe demo, I'd like to8introduce some of the most useful commands to VAX Notes:KThe "Enter" key on the keypad is probably the most useful key in VAX Notes.JBy repeatedly pressing the "Enter" key, VAX Notes will take you through anKentire conference, executing the appropriate "Next Screen," "Next Note," or2"Next Unseen" command depending on the conference.HAs you read notes in a conference, VAX Notes marks them "seen." You canOadjust the "seen map" at will to mark all notes before a certain date as seen. MNew conferences have an empty seen map in your notebook, allowing you to readKthe entire conference. If you would like to read only the last few days ofJnotes in one of these demo conferences, after opening the conference, typeM"SET SEEN /BEFORE=somedate" at the prompt. For somedate, use a VMS date likeF1-APR-1991. The SET SEEN command affects only the current conference.LAlthough reading through an entire conference by repeatedly pressing "Enter"Jis very easy, when the first screen of a note is displayed, you may decideLthat you don't wish to read the rest of the note. You have several options:K1. "Keypad 3" is the "NEXT NOTE" command. It will display the next note in the current topic.N2. "Keypad comma" is the "NEXT UNSEEN" command. It marks the remainder of theL notes in the topic as "seen" and proceeds to the next unseen note in some other topic.M3. "Keypad 2" is the "NEXT TOPIC" command. It moves to the first note in theD next higher numbered topic, without marking unread notes as seen.<Press "Enter" for more information about the DECUServe demo.
