!!![VAXYYY.SUB]AAAREADME.TXT! BUILDREAD.COM NOW DOES THIS AUTOMATICALLY. Eye Research Institute Submissions coordinated by: Bob Goldstein, Daniel P.B. Smith Bob Goldstein, Daniel P.B. Smith Eye Research Institute of Retina Foundation 20 Staniford Street Boston, MA 02114 (617) 742-3140 This submission consists of 2 directories, MACSNVAX.DIR and HALFTONE.DIR. HALFTONE.DIR is a program that converts grey-level images into halftones (ie, only 1s and 0s). It then has several output options to display the result on printers and sixel devices. MACSNVAX is a program that allows VMS to emulate a Macintosh for the purpose of file transfer and storage. Included within the MACSNVAX directory are useful Macintosh objects including an original Macintosh application that allows re-definition of the pre-defined pagesizes. HALFTONE has not appeared on previous tapes. MACSNVAX has appeared on the Spring 85 tape, but ran only under VMS V3.x. All programs in this submission run under VMS V4.1. 1. HALFTONE.DIR 1. Halftone- Program that converts from grey-scale to halftones. 2. Halfsubs - Subroutines needed by halftone. 3. GIRL - Small (128x128) image of a girl's face used to test halftone. 2. MACSNVAX.DIR MACSnVAX is a complete utility for uploading, downloading, and transferring Macintosh files via a VAX. For more information, see AAAREADME within that directory. Portions of MACSnVAX version 3.4a are copyright (c) 1985 by Eye Research Institute of Retina Foundation; all rights reserved. Eye Research Institute licenses MACSnVAX version 3.4a for use by DECUS members at no charge provided they register with us. 3.4a is a fully functional, useful utility. An improved version, not on this tape and not "free", is also available; contact us for details.
