gimp-print-4.2.5: description + notes
GIMP-Print is the
print facility for The Gimp, and
in addition a suite of drivers that may be used with common UNIX
spooling systems using GhostScript or
CUPS.
These drivers provide printing quality for UNIX/Linux in many
cases equal to or better than proprietary vendor-supplied drivers,
and can be used for many of the most demanding printing tasks.
The GIMP-Print user's manual is installed in
/usr/freeware/share/gimp-print/doc,
available in HTML and PDF formats. Additional documentation, as well
as a FAQ,
is also installed by default under that directory.
Please note: the CUPS driver and the GIMP print plug-in are marked for
installation by default. Conflicts during the installation phase will
arise if either fw_cups or fw_gimp is not
installed. These subsystems are optional, and can be skipped without
compromising fw_gimp-print.
