diffutils is the GNU implementation of some standard Unix utilities comparing files. These utilities include:

• cmp -- compare two files
• diff -- show differences between two text files; output is compatible with patch
• diff3 -- show differences between three text files
• sdiff -- interactively merge two files

For more details, see the GNU texinfo (diff.info*) pages which are included in the distribution, check the respective man page for each command, or visit the Diffutils home page.
