balsa is an e-mail reader. This client is part of the GNOME desktop environment. It supports local mailboxes, POP3 and IMAP. The Balsa Home Page has more information.

Note: if the "Configuring Balsa" dialog box brings up a blank page immediately after you specify your mailbox locations the most likely problem is that your Inbox file does not exist. Either have your system administrator create it or send yourself some mail.
