Choose the SINGLE option from the Menu Options Window.
 
Choose option

Select the highlighted line.
  
Select entity 1   (Press RETURN when done)

CADKEY gives you the option to continue with the 
selection of more entities.
  
Select entity 1   (Press RETURN when done)

Select the highlighted line.
  
Select entity 2   (Press RETURN when done)

Press <Enter> to end the selection.
  
Select entity 3   (Press RETURN when done)

After you have indicated all the entities you want, press 
<Enter> to tell CADKEY that the selection is complete.

Choose the CHAIN option from the Menu Options Window.
  
Choose option

Select the highlighted line as the start entity of the
chain.

Indicate to the left of the line you just selected to 
show chaining direction.
Cursor-indicate chaining direction

Select the highlighted line as the termination entity in 
the chain.
Select termination entity in chain or press RETURN

Choose the YES option to accept the chain selection.

After you have accepted the selection chain, all entities
in the chain are highlighted.

Indicate in the highlighted box as top left window  
corner.
Indicate position for 1st selection window corner

Indicate in the highlighted box as bottom right window
corner.
Indicate position for 2nd selection window corner

Entities that were completely inside of the window are 
selected by CADKEY.
