Hitachi Data Systems Copyright (c) 2008 All Rights Reserved ReadMe For Hi-Track Monitor Release V4.4 October 14, 2008 *** Device Support Enhancements * AMS 2000 family devices are supported. Note - These devices were supported in v4.3 but were translated to different model names. *** Other Enhancements * Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista and Red Hat Linux x86 64 bit platforms are now supported in addition to Windows 2003, 2000, XP, Solaris 10, 9, 8, and Red Hat Linux x86 32 bit. * A new version of the installer is included with this release. The ‘InstallEdit’ script used on V4.3 to handle installer problems on Linux systems is no longer required. * Installation on Windows User IDs with special characters is now supported by a pre-installation batch file which provides an opportunity to change the temporary directory used for the installation. If the temporary directory is not changed then the installer will not run with a User ID that contains special characters. * This version uses Java 6. Version 4.3 used Java 5. * A Proxy may now be configured directly in the HTTPs and FTP Transport Configuration pages. * The summary page may now be sorted by SiteID. * The number of emails limited in any 20 minute period is 30. Additional emails generated in the time period will be discarded. *** Corrections * The Locking mechanism on the file DFFILE.STORE has been changed to resolve problems of many threads accessing the same resource. * Java Run-time Exceptions during polling now affect only the one current device. The device may be set ‘Not Monitored’, the user may then review the conditions and may then set the device ‘Monitored’. * The Linux version of the ‘rundfmon’ script has been modified to handle the import and export functions correctly. * The FTP Transport will always create a history entry when a transfer fails. In previous versions a failure was reported in the main log file but not in the history.
